One of the best ways I know to get back into my flow, apart from daily naps and bodywork, is to do something creative.
This doesn’t necessarily refer to making art – it is connecting to a deeper creative source inside you, and getting focused on something so intensely that you lose track of time and for a while, you forget about the problems of the world. It becomes like a moving meditation – whatever the thing is that you are focused on, and accessing your creative mind.
What do you do?
My favourite way of releasing tension and getting back to flow, is to do an ‘Intuitive Creative’ process. These are processes that allow me to just follow the energy of what my hand wants to paint or draw, and see what comes out, with no planning or expectation for the outcome. It takes some practice – and I have a method to teach you how to do this – but when you know how, it can be very liberating, and bring you back to a real sense of flow, and calm.
I turn to creativity. Anything creative can help us get back to a state of flow… gardening, drawing, sewing, decorating, cooking, even walking a new and different route. Playing with children can be wonderfully creative.
Here is a picture of my sweet nephew in Australia, who loves drawing bugs on the walls. (I used to do that at that age, and now I draw on walls and get paid to do it 🙂 )
So, I’d like to invite you join me for a taste of what it feels like to access your Innate Creativity – that creative power inside you.
Join my new FB group , “Find Your Flow”, where I am opening up a warm, welcoming space for us to talk about anything that keeps us in a state of flow. Because where there is flow, there is health.
Let me know how you get back to your flow in the comments below, or in the FB group.
Stay well, and stay in flow.
