KEEP CALM AND DOODLE ON

How would it feel like to have a sense of freedom from your busy mind, and gain more clarity ?

You know that ‘frazzled nervous system feeling’ you can get in your body, when your mind is so busy and you are thinking of a million things at once, and feeling overwhelmed by the demands that are coming at you from everywhere? That feeling that it’s all “just too much”, and you wish you could just get some space for yourself to ‘think”?

In these times, more than ever, we are being called to be more present and make quick decisions to shift and change with every new thing that is coming at us. Are you able to do this with ease, or do you get stuck in a certain pattern of thinking and find yourself ‘feeling frazzled’ by all that is being asked of you?

I often hear from people who come to see me, that they want to feel more centered in themselves, and have more clarity in their thinking. They feel overwhelmed or stuck, ungrounded, or unsettled in some way. They are looking for more connection to themselves.

“I can express myself, I can lose myself in the moment, I can meditate and calm myself, I can find answer to something, and I can do it anywhere! I love that I don’t have to have something to show for it at the end, and I can doodle anywhere, anytime.” – Katrina

I love feeling when to leave a blank and when to fill one in. I love the feeling of flowing with a thought without judging it. This doodling stuff really does teach you more than just doodling. We should doodle life, it’d be more fun“- Tegwyn

This is a wonderful way to let your mind wander and wonder too…. thanks again for opening this door. Your workshop really is powerful.”  ~ Tegwyn

“It brought back memories of doodling repetitive marks as a child, which calmed me. I had forgotten that I used to doodle as a child to keep myself calm” – Janet

We often forget that we were once children, filled with all the creative possibilities of the cosmos inside us.  We grow up and grow rigid. And when something like reminds us of our childlike nature, it lightens up our day (and then our life.)

Can you relate?

Want to remember what it feels like to be a child?

Doodling is one of the magical tools I use to keep me sane and my nervous system calm.

I use doodling to keep my hands busy, to move anxious energy out of my body, and to keep my creative juices flowing.

My favourite benefit of doodling is that it keeps you in the present moment.  By being present, your brain relaxes, the nervous system calms down, and SPACE is created in your thoughts for CREATIVE SOLUTIONS  to arise.  Our world so busy, our minds are so fully occupied with thoughts and noise constantly.  By doodling, and giving our brains a bit of breathing space, BEEG things can happen. Magic can happen. I love that! I love the magic that True Creativity weaves.

And a surprising effect sometimes can be that creative solutions to problems arise out of ‘nowhere’ like magic.

Doodling is more powerful than you might think!

Doodling can be addictive.  Be warned!  But what a great addiction to bring about relaxation and calm.

I look forward to sharing this simple , but powerful practice with you.

The results of Doodle Playdates can be as fun or as serious as you want them to be.

Keep calm dear friends, and keep doodling through life.

With a regular ‘doodling practice’ you can:

  • De-stress and relax your mind and body
  • Become aware of what’s really going on inside your mind
  • Notice how outcome and product constantly drive your performance, and how healing it can be to relax and let go of the attachment to making something perfect.
  • Enhance your drawing /painting skills (not drawing a picture – just understanding the medium you work with)
  • Open up your creative flow
  • Improve your ability to problem solve
  • Improve your hand-eye coordination and handwriting skills
  • Enhance your ability to learn, and retain information
  • Get insights into yourself, life and solutions to problems that you never could have ‘thought up’

“Intuitive Creativity is all about the process, not the product”

You cannot get this wrong!
